Royal Caribbean Sends 7 Ships to Europe, Carnival Pulls Two Ships From Australia, Tight Security
Royal Caribbean is making a major move with its first-ever year-round European cruise season from 2028, sending seven ships to the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, and the Canary Islands with overnight stays in cities like Istanbul and Alexandria. An Israeli cruise ship, the Crown Iris, prompted major security measures on a visit to the Greek island of Kefalonia, with boats restricted and waterfront roads closed, though no protests materialised. And Carnival Cruise Line is removing two ships, Carnival Luminosa and Carnival Adventure, from the Australian market in March 2028, while Carnival Splendor and Carnival Encounter stay on.
