Isla Tropicale Roatán | Full Port & Beach Walkthrough (Formerly Mahogany Bay)
Come with us for a full walkthrough of Isla Tropicale in Roatán, Honduras—formerly known as Mahogany Bay—as we explore the cruise port all the way from Caribbean Princess to the port shopping area to the nature trail to the beach and back! If you are planning a cruise to Isla Tropicale in Roatán and want to see what the port and beach area are really like, I hope walking it with us helps you plan your own visit. Our day begins as Caribbean Princess backs into Roatán, but before we even make it off the ship, our morning takes an unexpected turn when the ship's water is shut off a little earlier than expected. Once ashore, I take you along with us for an immersive walk through the entire Isla Tropicale cruise port area. We walk from the ship and up the pier, through the duty-free shop, stop at the Mahogany Bay sign, explore the shopping complex, and continue toward the beach. Rather than taking the chairlift, we walk the path to the beach and detour onto the beautiful tropical trail along the water before arriving at Mahogany Beach. From there, we walk along the beach before making our way back through the port and returning to Caribbean Princess. Along the way, I point out several helpful current prices and show you what the port area, walking paths, shops and beach are actually like so you can get a better idea of what to expect when planning your own day in Roatán. IMPORTANT NOTE: This footage was filmed during our January Caribbean Princess cruise, when the destination was still known as Mahogany Bay. In May 2026, the destination debuted its new Isla Tropicale name and branding, and additional amenities have since been added. You will see the former Mahogany Bay name throughout our original footage. Back onboard Caribbean Princess, we attend a New-to-Princess sailaway reception at the Terrace Pool. While we are there, our cruise director has arranged a very special send-off surprise from Regal Princess! We finish our evening with dinner in the main dining room, entertainment around the ship and one of our favorite cruise activities—the silent disco. And before the video ends, I have an important update about what is coming next on Jetways to Gangways. If you are planning a cruise to Isla Tropicale in Roatán and want to see what the port and beach area are really like, I hope walking it with us helps you plan your own visit. Thanks so much for cruising along with us! Tour the Ships. See the Sights. Love the Journey.
