Episode 5 : Visiting Detroit During A Great Lakes Cruise With American Cruise Lines
This is episode #5 of my Great Lakes cruise series, with American Cruise Lines aboard the American Patriot. In this episode, I spend a full day exploring Detroit, Michigan. It got off to a great start with a generous delivery of genuine Detroit-style pizza by a crew member's family. I visited the world-renowned Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in nearby Dearborn, and got a look inside an actual manufacturing facility where they assemble the Ford F150. I also got a look inside the mostly abandoned Renaissance Center, the former headquarters of General Motors. Other than a fully functional hotel at the center, the Renaissance Center has had about a 75% vacancy rate ever since General Motors discovered during the pandemic that much of the corporate workforce could work remotely from home. I share some beautiful sunset drone footage, and give you a look at the new Gordie Howe International Bridge. Also, you'll hear a great Motown cover band that came aboard our ship and performed for all of us. If you're interested in booking a cruise like this with American Cruise Lines, my advice is to use the services of an experienced travel agent who can coordinate your air travel, ground transportation, and pre/post-cruise hotel stays. Feel free to reach out to my travel agent, Caitlin Gallagher, owner of Ambren Travel. She is more experienced with American Cruise Lines than just about any travel agent in the country! 1-904-364-5774 caitlin@ambrentravel.com www.ambrentravel.com If you enjoy this video, please give it a thumbs up, leave a comment below, and subscribe to the channel (it's free!) so that YouTube will recommend Episode #6 to you as soon as it's released. #americancruiselines #detroit #motown #cruiseship #greatlakes Video Chapters 0:00 Intro 0:36 Sailing To Detroit 2:28 My Evening In Detroit 4:42 Morning In Detroit 5:21 Henry Ford Museum 7:24 GM Headquarters 9:07 Evening On The Ship 10:33 Detroit River Sunrise
