5 Cruises We’d Think Twice About Booking Again - And Why!
Some cruises look like an absolute bargain — until you realise what comes with them. These are five types of cruise we’d now think twice about booking again, based on our own experiences. We love cruising and there aren't any cruises we’d completely rule out. But after years of cruising, there are certain itineraries we now look at much more carefully before handing over our money. In this video we look at five of them: 🚢 Very short cruises – great value, but sometimes with a completely different atmosphere from a longer sailing. 🛶 Cruises with lots of tender ports – particularly if the ports themselves are the main reason you’re booking. 🆕 Maiden voyages – we’ve done them ourselves, and being first onboard can sometimes mean being first to discover the teething problems too. 🌍 Repositioning cruises – often fantastic value, but with plenty of sea days and the added complication of starting and finishing in different places. 🌪️ Cruising at the wrong time of year – something we learned the hard way when Hurricane Dorian left us onboard Harmony of the Seas for four unexpected extra days. None of these automatically make a bad cruise. A repositioning cruise could be perfect if you love sea days. A maiden voyage can be incredibly exciting. Tender ports can take you to some beautiful destinations. The point is knowing what you’re actually booking before that bargain fare tempts you!
