I paid $6,100 for nine days on Silversea's Silver Muse, my first ever ultra luxury cruise, and this is my full, unsponsored STEPS review of the entire cruise experience. Silver Muse is Silversea's 2017-built, 596-guest ultra luxury cruise ship, fresh out of her first major dry dock at Fincantieri in Palermo. I sailed her round-trip from Barcelona through France, Monaco and Spain in an entry-level Classic Veranda suite, booked on one of Silversea's reduced solo supplement fares. Everything except excursions and the two specialty restaurants was included: all meals, all drinks with no drink packages, gratuities and wifi. I score every ship I sail using my STEPS system: Ship, Taste, Entertainment, Ports and Service. Every category gets a score out of five, and they average into one number at the end. Ports gets rated but doesn't count toward the final tally. In this Silversea Silver Muse review I go through the dated interiors and what the 2025 refit actually changed, the drainage and vibration problems in my suite, the food at The Grill, S.A.L.T. Kitchen, Atlantide, Spaccanapoli, and the Arts Café, the production shows in the Venetian Lounge, the small-ship port access in Marseille, Monte Carlo, Porto Mahón and Ibiza, and the service problems across the ship.
