Cunard Queen Victoria Adventure - Easter 2026 - Part 6 - La Rochelle
Hi Everyone Welcome you our final prtday, where we visit the wonderful port of La Rochelle. We skipped breakfast as we wanted to ensure we were out at the earliest opportunity. The sun was shining in La Rochelle and we were soon on our way on the complimentary shuttle, which was a 20 minute ride into the centre. Immediately we came across an array of pretty boulangeries and pâtisseries, quaint gift shops and cafes. Further on. We came across the local Galleries Lafayette, where ily saw a bag that she liked. We walked down to the seafront to the stunning marina, with lots of sea front restaurants and people enjoying the good weather. We walked back into the Central district, and there were surprises at every corner, whether it be another selection of independent shops, medieval squares, and fantastic architecture. We visited the local food market which puts our local produce to shame. Everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, fish and desserts, all the looking around made us hungry, so we went to La Pain Beurre for a tasty lunch. kebad sandwiches were nice and the ham baguette Emily had got the thumbs up. A small Paris Best and a cookie rounded up the meal nicely! The Paris Brest was so good a larger one was purchased for later! It did last a few days! We had a further look around the shops, discovering a nice niche perfumery and decided it was finally time to make our way back to get the shuttle bus to the ship. Once on board we went back to the cabin to get ready for formal night. Once again the food was exemplary, and the beef wellington was the best we have had for formal night so far. After dinner we go to see Micheal Austin performing songs from the musicals. We enjoyed the show but felt it could have had some more energetic numbers. Afterwards we take a look at the shops before arriving a the late night buffet for a little snack before bedtime. We have had another great day on board Queen Victoria and are sad that the next day is the last day of our cruise.
