The Unplanned Gondola Ride at Icy Strait Point

What's the last plan you made five minutes before doing it, that ended up mattering more than anything you'd actually scheduled? We hadn't planned this one. We got off, saw the gondolas, and just decided. The green gondola gets you to the Adventure Center for free. From there, the red one climbs Hoonah Mountain to about 1,500 feet — looking straight out over Icy Strait and the Tongass forest below, no reservation, no research, no plan required. So what would it feel like to let a good decision be the unplanned one, for once? Green fading into red. The strait opening up below. A view we weren't even supposed to see today.
