Passenger Overboard & The Whale Tail Returns! | Carnival Cruise News
Big Carnival news today — and somehow, the whale tail is back in the headlines AGAIN. First, a passenger went overboard from the Carnival Panorama while the ship was returning to Long Beach from Puerto Vallarta. Carnival reviewed surveillance footage, alerted authorities, and the ship turned around to assist with the response. As of the latest update, the passenger had not been found. Now for some much lighter news — Carnival Freedom is getting her famous whale-tail funnel back… AGAIN! At this point, that funnel has had more comebacks than some rock bands. The funnel was damaged by fires in May 2022 and again in March 2024, and has now been reinstalled during Carnival Freedom's September 2026 dry dock in Marseille, France. And speaking of Carnival, the Lido Burrito was at sea last week on the Carnival Celebration! Full review coming very soon — and trust me, we've got plenty to talk about.
