Pompeii from Naples Cruise Port | Cameo Factory & Exploring the Ruins of Pompeii

Join us for an unforgettable shore excursion from **Naples, Italy** during our Mediterranean cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's *Brilliance of the Seas*! 🇮🇹🚢 Our excursion began with a fascinating visit to a **cameo factory**, where we had the opportunity to watch skilled artisans at work and learn how traditional cameos are carved from shells. Seeing the craftsmanship and learning about the process behind these beautiful pieces was a really interesting part of the day. From there, we continued on to the incredible **ruins of Pompeii**, where we spent the day exploring the ancient city that was buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. While exploring Pompeii, we saw: 🏛️ Two ancient theaters 🛍️ Ancient market shops and the sliding door slots used to identify them 🛞 Streets designed with raised stepping stones and spaces that accommodated chariots 🛁 An ancient bath house 🏠 A home with beautifully preserved frescoes 🥖 An ancient bakery 🏺 Artifacts recovered from the city 🗿 Plaster casts of people who were caught in the eruption One of the most fascinating parts of Pompeii was seeing how much everyday life could still be understood from the ruins—from the way shops were identified to the design of the streets, homes, bakeries, and public spaces.
