If you’re planning a cruise with Celebrity Cruises, you’ve probably wondered how gratuities or tipping actually work. Are they mandatory, these automatic gratuities? Can you remove them? Should you prepay gratuities? And where does that money really go? In this video, I break down everything you need to know about Celebrity Cruises gratuities and tipping, including the daily gratuity amount, what it covers, who receives the tips, and the different options you have before and during your cruise. Cruise gratuities can be confusing for many travelers — especially first-time cruisers. Celebrity cruise automatically add daily gratuities to your onboard account and they also allow you to prepay them before your sailing. I’ll explain how the system works on Celebrity so you can avoid surprises on your final bill. We’ll also talk about common questions cruisers ask, like whether gratuities can be removed or adjusted, if you should still tip for exceptional service, and how tipping works in specialty restaurants, bars, and spa services. Whether you’re taking your first cruise or you’ve sailed many times, understanding how gratuities work can help you plan your cruise budget and feel more confident before boarding your ship.
