Cruise Pool Tragedy

We report on the tragic death of 58-year-old pastor Steve Junker from Minnesota, who was found face down in a swimming pool on the Sun Princess with a serious cervical spinal cord injury. He was disembarked in Naples, Italy, underwent emergency surgery, and was flown to Mayo Clinic, where he briefly communicated with his family before passing away. As a lawyer investigating cruise ship spinal cord injuries, I discuss key questions about the cruise line's response, including surveillance video, immobilization, and evacuation timing. Our thoughts are with the Junker family, who have set up a GoFundMe for expenses.
