What is residential cruising, and could you really live your life on a cruise ship? In this conversation, I’m joined by Suzanne, who runs the Residential Cruising Facebook group, to talk about the growing idea of living permanently or semi-permanently at sea. We discuss what residential cruising actually means, why people are attracted to this lifestyle, and how it differs from simply taking long cruises or world cruises. We also look at the residential cruising options currently available, including Villa Vie Odyssey, The World and other emerging models. A big part of our conversation is Villa Vie. I’ve followed the company closely and have been both interested and sceptical about its model, so Suzanne and I discuss what has happened, why the company has faced challenges, what residents and potential residents are saying, and what could have been done differently.
