A week, seven stops, and a cruise ship with just 38 guests. World of Cruising's Will Payne joins Cruise Croatia aboard MS Queen Jelena (Kraljica Jelena) for a week island-hopping from Dubrovnik to Split, to find out what a small ship itinerary gets you that a 4,000-guest ship can't. It starts in Dubrovnik, inside the old city walls, before heading out to Hvar. From there it's across to Komiža on the island of Vis, a working fishing town at the far edge of the Croatian islands, then on to Korčula's old town, the quiet harbour at Milna on Brač, and Mljet, where the national park and its saltwater lakes cover much of the island. The week closes in Split, among the stone streets of Diocletian's Palace. Here's what most people don't know: the stops that make this itinerary aren't the famous ones. Harbours like Milna and Komiža are too small for big ships to get anywhere near, and on a 38-guest yacht they're simply the next port. Seven ports, one week, and none of them seen from a tender queue.
