EXCLUSIVE: Behind the scenes onboard Explora III - Explora Journeys’ newest ship
Will Payne was in Genoa, Italy, for the official delivery ceremony of Explora III - the newest vessel in the Explora Journeys fleet - before getting a few hours onboard to see it before anyone else does. The tour starts where the ship does: the delivery ceremony itself, then straight into the build. The lobby sets the tone, followed by the Journeys Lounge and a Kids Club that's a long way from the standard cruise ship playroom. From there it's the Emporium Marketplace, the Cove Residence suites, and Ocean Wellness — including the fitness centre and running track for anyone who wants more than a lounger. Then the parts most cruisers never see on a standard ship tour: the shops, the Astern Lounge, and the Conservatory pool deck. Crema Café for coffee, the Galleria d'Arte for something a little different, and the Helios Bar and The Cellar for everything after dark. The tour finishes in an Ocean Terrace Suite — the kind of cabin that makes the case for this ship on its own. Here's the thing most people don't know about a ship delivery: this is the earliest a camera has ever been allowed onboard — before passengers, before the naming ceremony, before any of it. This is Explora III, first look.
