They Said Skip Peggy's Cove | Halifax & Saint John Cruise Ports
Can Canada's cruise ports beat Maine? On the final two port days of our fall New England and Canada cruise, we rented a car in Halifax, Nova Scotia to test the rental agent's advice to skip Peggy's Cove (spoiler: crowded, windy and touristy for us), then found the day's saving grace at Acadian Maple Products, a maple syrup and spiced rum tasting about 30 minutes away. In Saint John, New Brunswick, we walked the Harbour Passage about 2 miles to watch the Bay of Fundy tide turn at the Reversing Falls. Stick around for our verdict: Canadian ports vs. US ports. Go early or on a calm, sunny day. - Saint John: the Reversing Falls are about a 2-mile walk along the Harbour Passage.
