We had one full day in Boston before our cruise, so we tried to cram in as much as we could. The whole Freedom Trail in the morning, a nap (honestly needed), and then the Politically Incorrect Food Tour in the North End that night. Is it worth flying in a day early for your cruise just to see Boston? Lauren and I don't totally agree on this one, so stick around for the end. A few things we learned on the Freedom Trail: • Download the free NPS app audio tour BEFORE you go. Cell service gets spotty between the buildings. • Plan on 3–4 hours if you're just walking it and not going into the museums. We did about 3.5 miles. • A lot of it is free, but some stops charge if you want to go inside. • Wear real shoes. It's more walking than you think. And the food tour... if you like Italian food, just go. Ravioli, pizza, a lemon slush, and affogato (gelato with a shot of espresso) that we're still thinking about. Fair warning, it's called "politically incorrect" for a reason. Little bit of history, a lot of humor, some profanity. ⏱️ CHAPTERS 0:00 Is 24 hours in Boston enough? 0:38 Boston Common & the start of the Freedom Trail 1:50 54th Massachusetts Regiment Memorial & State House 2:25 Granary Burying Ground (Paul Revere, Sam Adams, John Hancock) 2:58 Boston Massacre site, Quincy Market & Faneuil Hall area 3:46 Paul Revere House in the North End 4:25 Old North Church – one if by land, two if by sea 5:26 Charlestown, Navy Yard & Bunker Hill Monument 7:43 Politically Incorrect Food Tour + is Boston worth it?
