#cruisenews #celebritycruises #oceaniacruises Are cruise lines creating a two-tier cruising experience? From Princess Cruises’ Sanctuary Collection to Norwegian’s Haven, MSC Yacht Club, Celebrity’s Retreat and Royal Caribbean’s exclusive suite areas, the best spaces on cruise ships are increasingly being reserved for passengers willing to pay a premium. But what happens to everyone else? In this video, I’m looking at the growing ship-within-a-ship trend and asking whether mainstream cruise lines are gradually taking away the spaces that made cruising enjoyable for everyone. Princess Cruises recently announced the expansion of its Sanctuary Collection across five additional ships, including Royal Princess, Regal Princess, Discovery Princess, Sky Princess and Enchanted Princess. The changes will see previously accessible adults-only areas become exclusive to passengers booking designated Sanctuary Collection accommodation. And Princess isn’t alone. We’ll look at: * The history of the ship-within-a-ship concept and how it has evolved. * Norwegian Cruise Line’s Haven, MSC Yacht Club and Celebrity The Retreat. * Royal Caribbean’s growing suite-exclusive facilities. * What’s changing aboard Princess Cruises’ Royal-class ships. * Whether paying thousands more for a private cruise ship experience actually represents good value. * The growing divide between premium and standard cruise accommodation. * Whether smaller premium cruise lines like Oceania, Viking and Azamara offer a better alternative. Is cruising becoming a case of pay more or miss out? And if you’re spending thousands of dollars extra to escape the crowds on a mainstream cruise ship, wouldn’t you be better off considering an entirely different cruise line? I’ve sailed on 57 cruises over more than two decades, and I think this is an important conversation for the future of cruising. HAVE YOUR SAY Are cruise lines taking things too far with exclusive spaces and premium accommodation? Would you pay extra for a ship within a ship, or are you considering switching cruise lines altogether? Let me know in the comments. I read them, and I’d love to hear your perspective.
