Princess Cruises BACKTRACKS After Passenger Backlash!
Princess Cruises has BACKTRACKED on its controversial Sanctuary Collection plans for Royal Princess - but what does this mean for passengers? Just days after Princess Cruises announced its decision to expand its Sanctuary Collection to Royal Princess, the cruise line has announced a significant change to its rollout plans. The full Sanctuary Club experience, originally planned to launch following Royal Princess’s return from dry dock, has now been delayed until 22 April 2027, when the ship arrives in North America. In the meantime, there’s some good news for passengers. From 30 October 2026 through to 21 April 2027, the Sanctuary Club space, including the pool, will remain open to all guests aged 16 and over. The new Sanctuary Restaurant and Suite Lounge will still open as planned, with access reserved for eligible Sanctuary Collection and suite guests. So, is this a win for passengers? Has Princess Cruises listened to the concerns raised by guests? And what does this mean for the future of the Sanctuary Collection on Royal Princess and the other Royal-class ships? I’ll break down the announcement, explain what’s changing, and look at what this means for passengers booked on Royal Princess over the coming months. One thing is clear: this isn’t a complete reversal. The full Sanctuary Club experience is still planned, but Princess has given passengers a six-month reprieve and extra time to alter their plans if they choose. HAVE YOUR SAY! Do you think Princess Cruises has made the right decision? Should the Sanctuary Club pool remain accessible to all adult passengers, or are you happy with the planned exclusive Sanctuary Collection experience? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. 👍 Enjoy independent cruise news, honest cruise ship reviews and passenger-focused commentary?
