Four cruise ship crew members found with child exploitation material
I discuss a troubling situation at Port Everglades where Customs and Border Patrol arrested four cruise ship crew members found with child exploitation material on their phones. While the arrests themselves may seem justified, I explore the alarming lack of due process: these individuals were deported with no lawyer, no embassy contact, no hearing, and no presumption of innocence. Over 200 similar cases have occurred in the past year alone. I raise critical questions about whether this approach aligns with fundamental legal rights and the presumption of innocence that should exist in our country.
