Welcome to this, We Didn't Expect This in New Quay, Wales vlog, where we spend 2 days in this beautiful Mid Wales fishing village. Before we went to New Quay, we had no idea that New Quay was the inspiration for the locations and people in Dylan Thomas' Under Milk Wood. After recently working on a production of Dylan Thomas' Under Milk Wood, discovering that New Quay was the inspiration for Llareggub was amazing, and we made sure we did the Dylan Thomas Trail, looking at many places in New Quay associated with Dylan Thomas and Under Milk Wood. This was our first ever visit to New Quay, Mid Wales and we weren't disappointed, it is the most idyllic, small fishing coastal town, with beauty and history all rolled into one. Our trip to New Quay was made even better by meeting up with Tom and Dom from the brilliant cruise YouTube channel, @TomandDomTravel where we spent a few hours in the evening putting the world to rights and talking all things cruising and YouTube. We stayed in the Hotel Penwig and to be honest, we couldn't have picked anywhere more perfect. The Hotel Penwig, New Quay is in the perfect location and have some of the best staff we have ever met in a hotel, they were brilliant - big shout out to Colin and the two ladies on the breakfast shift, who told us all about the filming of the Dylan Thomas film that was released not too long ago. Even though we had both had a very stressful week in work, we love our short time in New Quay, Wales and it was a perfect escape for some relaxation and exploring, made even better by meeting up with Tom and Dom and the wonderful staff at the Hotel Penwig. The days were filled with so much fun, from going on a dolphin watching boat trip, do visiting historical pubs and eating in lovely restaurants. We really didn't expect New Quay to blow us away like it did, even in the not so great Welsh weather, and we didn't expect this to find the Dylan Thomas link.
