The Adriatic Delights Cruise is back again this year with Marella Cruises onboard the adults only Marella Explorer 2 cruise ship and takes you to some of the most stunning locations around the Adriatic Sea. The Marella Explorer 2 Adriatic Delights Cruise embarks in Dubrovnik, Croatia and takes you to some of the most incredible places around the Adriatic. After sailing, you first get a sea day, where you can explore and discover all of what the Tui Marella Cruises Explorer 2 has to offer, from it's beautiful pools and decks, to it's live entertainment and production shows, not to mention all of the onboard activities, bars, restaurants, health spas, casinos and much more. We went on the Explore 2 Adriatic Cruise last year and the order of ports is slightly different this year, but when we went, our first port of call was Koper, Slovenia. In this Adriatic Delights Cruise guide, we take a look around the beautiful but quaint town of Koper, but we also take a Marella excursion to Lake Bled, which was incredible and something we highly recommend. Next up for us was Trieste, Italy which was beautiful, but it may be this year that the port has been changed to Ancona, Italy. This is the only change in itinerary for this year. Both of these places are incredibly beautiful and are well worth spending a day just exploring this stunning part of Italy. For us next was Zadar, Croatia. Zadar is home to not only the most incredible town but also the haunting Zadar Sea Organ, an art installation that plays the sound of the sea through a type of pipe organ. You can get to the town of Zadar by a very short coach transfer from the port. We paid a few pound to Marella for this coach and after that, everything was really walkable. You can even follow our trail to see the best sights of Zadar. Split, Croatia was next for us, where we explored the town which was only a short walking distance from the cruise ship terminal. This is one of the most incredible historical places in Croatia and you can see why it was used as a filming location for Game of Thrones. Ones we had walked around the town, we checked out the local beach, also within walking distance from the cruise port. Finally for us was Kotor, Montenegro. This was quite possibly one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited. Overlooked by mountains, Kotor is an incredibly magical destination, with it's almost fjords like sail in. Often, the Explorer 2 will dock in the port at Kotor, but when we were there, we had to tender, which was an added bonus, as the short boat ride in was just stunning.
