Naples, Italy Cruise Port 🇮🇹 | Pompeii, Pizza & Exploring Naples! Join us as we spend an incredible day in Naples, Italy, during our Mediterranean cruise! 🇮🇹 Our adventure begins at the Naples cruise port before heading out on an excursion to one of Italy’s most fascinating archaeological sites — Pompeii. Before reaching Pompeii, we stop at a local jewelry workshop and learn about the beautiful tradition of Italian cameo carving. Then we step back nearly 2,000 years as we explore the ancient streets of Pompeii, buried following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. 🏛️ During our visit to Pompeii, we explore ancient Roman streets and homes, see remarkably preserved frescoes, visit the Forum Baths and frigidarium, walk through the Forum, see the haunting plaster casts of victims of the eruption, and finish near the Temple of Apollo. But our day wasn't over yet! After returning to the Port of Naples, we headed back out on foot to do some shopping and experience more of the city. And you can't visit the birthplace of pizza without trying some authentic Neapolitan pizza! 🍕 We stopped at La Lazzara Trattoria e Pizzeria before continuing our walk through Naples. Along the way we also visited the magnificent Naples Cathedral (Duomo di Napoli), home to the traditions and relics associated with San Gennaro, the patron saint of Naples. If you're visiting Naples on a cruise and wondering whether you can visit Pompeii and still have time to explore Naples afterward, come along and see how much we packed into one port day! 👍 LIKE this video if you enjoy traveling with us. 🔔 SUBSCRIBE to Smokeytraveler for more cruises, road trips and adventures as we continue to Collect Moments, Not Things!
