P&O Aurora - Lofoten Islands, Arctic Circle, Norway - July 2025? We crossed the Arctic Circle at 9:45pm, got our certificates this morning, and then stayed up to 1am to see the midnight sun in Lofoten. Aurora at anchor in Leknes Bay - tender ashore with the coxswain to Ballstad - she looked just like Canberra in San Carlos Water during the Falklands War in 1982. For us that's personal - we spent our 10th wedding anniversary on Canberra in 1995 with the children, when she was cruising again. Ballstad, Lofoten - quiet, stunning - walk to the fishing village, the memorial, then the bus to the beach at Ballstadlandet. Midnight sun at 1am, Aurora at anchor at night, and tender back with the pilot boat out. Ship: P&O Aurora - Northern Lights / Arctic Circle Cruise Port: Lofoten Islands, Leknes / Ballstad, Norway Tender port - no pier for Aurora Time: Crossing Arctic Circle 21:45 - Midnight sun 01:00 Next: Andalsnes and the Golden Train...
