Vancouver to Sitka: This Was NOT the Sea Day We Expected | Serenade of the Seas
We’re back with another Harrison Adventures update from aboard Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas as we make our way from Vancouver toward Sitka, Alaska — and this sea day turned out to be a little more eventful than expected! Watch to the end if you want to see all of the footage released by the Canadian Air Force unit responsible for the video and rescue: Canadian Air Force 442 Transport and Rescue Squadron based at 19 Wing Comox, directed by Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Victoria. After leaving Vancouver, we settled in for our journey north through some absolutely beautiful scenery. But as we’ve learned after spending hundreds of nights at sea, cruising doesn’t always go exactly according to plan. This time, our trip included a medical emergency onboard that required a helicopter evacuation at sea. We were able to watch as the Coast Guard coordinated the operation with Serenade of the Seas — an incredible reminder of just how much happens behind the scenes when someone needs help while a cruise ship is underway. We’ll take you along for the journey, share what was happening aboard the ship, and give you an update as we continue toward Sitka and another stop on our Alaska adventure. This is Alaska cruise #4 of 5 for us this season, and there’s still plenty more to come! 🚢 Sailing: Serenade of the Seas 📍 Route: Vancouver, British Columbia → Sitka, Alaska ⚓ Harrison Adventures If you enjoy seeing what cruising is really like — the ports, the ships, the unexpected moments and all of the organized chaos in between — subscribe and follow along with Harrison Adventures.
