Next stop on our Taste of the Tropics itinerary around the Caribbean on Marella Voyager was Guadeloupe. Although we docked in Pointe a Pitre I went on a shore excursion to Deshaies. The town of Deshaies is where they film the BBC TV series Death in Paradise and we visited the fictional Police Station and Catherine's Bar in the town of Honore on the island of Saint Marie - all part of the tour!! I chose this shore excursion though as I'm only an occasional fan of the show, and the tour also visited Deshaie's Botanic Gardens. Talking to friends it seems we got to do everything they did, with the gardens as well, so I think this is a good tour to choose whether you're a super fan or just want to see the town. You're in French territory here, so its also part of the EU and you can spend Euros. Then we had an evening enjoying the cruise ship entertainment, although rain played havoc with the deck party! Please feel free to subscribe as I'll be sharing my videos from the 11 ports of call we visit on our tour of the Caribbean and the Windward and Leeward islands.
