CDC reports major norovirus outbreak
We report on a serious norovirus outbreak aboard the Caribbean Princess cruise ship, where over 100 passengers and a dozen crew members have been stricken with the virus. We discuss the symptoms including projectile vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps, explain how the virus spreads in close quarters through common touch areas like railings and elevator buttons, and note that while most people recover within days, it can be serious for elderly passengers.
