Elder woman dies. Catapults into water
We discuss a tragic incident where an 88-year-old passenger died after losing control of a rented mobility scooter on the Carnival Celebration cruise ship. We explore how elderly passengers often rent unfamiliar scooters from companies like Scooter Round because cruise lines don't allow personal scooters, leading to accidents due to unfamiliarity with controls. We share insights from cruise line litigation experience, including two similar fatal cases in 2025, and provide recommendations for mobility scooter users to practice and become comfortable with their equipment before cruising.
