If you only had 3 hours to see Rome, how much could you realistically experience? At the end of our Mediterranean cruise, we wanted to see as much of Rome as possible without spending another day walking miles through the summer heat. So we booked a private 3-hour golf cart tour of Rome — and it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable afternoons of our entire trip. In this video, we’ll show you what you can realistically see during a short Rome golf cart tour, including the Spanish Steps, Villa Borghese, Roman Forum, Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Circus Maximus, historic churches, panoramic viewpoints, hidden streets, and neighborhoods we probably never would have discovered on our own. We’ll also explain what we liked about having a private guide, how the golf cart handles Rome’s busy streets, why its small size is such an advantage, and the biggest limitation of trying to see Rome in only a few hours. This type of tour won’t replace spending several days exploring Rome or going inside attractions like the Colosseum or Vatican Museums. But if you’re visiting Rome after a cruise, staying only one night, or simply want to see a huge amount of the city without exhausting yourself, this may be one of the most efficient ways to do it. Would you explore Rome by golf cart, or would you rather walk the city? Let me know in the comments!
