Our return to Kotor, Montenegro aboard Celebrity Constellation didn’t go as planned. The skies were blue and the weather looked almost perfect, but rough seas forced the ship to cancel tender operations, and our day in Kotor was over before it even started. But this wasn’t our first attempt at visiting Kotor. In this video, we’re taking you back to our 2024 Celebrity Constellation cruise, when we successfully made it ashore in Kotor despite some challenging weather. We explored the narrow streets, churches and historic fortifications of Kotor’s Old Town before a major rainstorm temporarily suspended tender operations. Then an unexpected decision completely changed our day. We hired a local driver and headed beyond Kotor to beautiful Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks, eventually taking a scenic drive high above the Bay of Kotor. What started as a rainy day with very few plans became one of our most memorable cruise port experiences, although a traffic jam on the way back certainly made things interesting. We’ll show you what happened on both visits, what we loved about Kotor, why Perast was one of the highlights of our 2024 cruise, and what cruise passengers should know before making plans at a tender port. If Kotor, Montenegro is on your cruise itinerary, this is one port you’ll want to be prepared for.
