I Lost $500 in Carnival’s Casino...Then the Cruise Offers Started
I spent six nights on Carnival Magic testing Carnival’s casino program to see whether playing with a reasonable budget could actually lead to future cruise offers. In this video, I’m taking you through my casino sessions from the sailing, including how each session went, the wins, the losses, how my points were building, and where I ended up by the end of the cruise. I finished the sailing with around 2,500 casino points and was down approximately $600 overall. But that wasn’t the end of the experiment. After the cruise, Carnival started sending me multiple casino offers, and I actually used one of them to book an 8-night ABC Islands cruise for two for about $496 total, with $200 onboard credit and drinks for me while playing in the casino. So was losing $600 worth what came afterward? That’s what I wanted to find out. I’m also testing Royal Caribbean’s casino program, using the offers we earn, and tracking what these cruises really cost once you include the money spent in the casino, taxes, fees, gratuities, and everything else. Casino offers are never guaranteed, and I’m not chasing points or losses just to reach another level. I’m tracking what I’m comfortable spending and comparing that against the actual value of the offers we receive.
