Carnival vs Royal Caribbean Casino Offers: Here’s What I Actually Got

I went into my first Carnival Magic and Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas sailings with an experiment: play in both cruise casinos, track what I spent, track the points I earned, and then wait to see whether the casino offers everyone talks about would actually show up. Well...they showed up. In this video, I’m sitting down after both cruises to show you what Carnival and Royal Caribbean actually offered me, what I was able to book, and whether the offers made sense compared with what I spent earning them. On Carnival Magic, I finished with around 2,500 casino points and was down approximately $500. After the sailing, Carnival started sending me multiple offers. I used one to book an 8-night ABC Islands cruise to Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao for two people for about $496 total, with $200 in onboard credit and drinks for me while playing in the casino. On Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas, I finished with around 600 casino points and was also down about $500. Before I even left the ship, I received an instant cruise certificate for an interior cabin for me with a discounted second guest. That first Royal offer eventually led us right back to Freedom of the Seas for another sailing. So now I had offers from BOTH cruise lines, actual cruises booked from them, and a much better idea of whether this experiment could really make cruising more affordable for us. This video is about the offers and results. If you want to see the actual casino sessions, wins, losses and how the points built throughout each sailing, I also have separate Carnival Magic and Freedom of the Seas casino videos here on Cruise With Vetta. And we’re not stopping with the first offers. I’m continuing to track the casino spending, points, taxes, fees, gratuities, onboard credit and actual value of the cruises we book so we can see what these so-called “free cruises” really cost.
