I Lost $500 in Royal Caribbean’s Casino…Then They Gave Me a Cruise Offer
I spent five nights aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas testing the casino program to find out what regular casino play could actually turn into. Throughout this video, I’m taking you along for my casino sessions, showing how each night went, where my points were climbing, the wins, the losses, and what happened by the end of the sailing. I finished the cruise with around 600 casino points and was down approximately $500 overall. But this experiment had a very interesting ending. Before I even got off Freedom of the Seas, Royal Caribbean gave me an instant cruise certificate. At the level I reached, the offer covered an interior cabin for me, with my second guest available at a discounted rate. So the real question became: Was losing about $500 worth the cruise offer I received? That’s what I wanted to find out. I had just finished testing Carnival’s casino program before boarding Freedom, so now I also had two very different casino programs, point systems, losses, and cruise offers to compare. And this wasn’t just theoretical. We actually went on to use one of these casino offers for another cruise, so I’ll also be showing what these so-called “free cruises” really cost once you include taxes, fees, gratuities, casino spending, and everything else. Casino offers are never guaranteed, and I’m not chasing losses just to reach another points level. I’m tracking what I’m comfortable spending, what comes back in offers, and whether the numbers actually make sense for the way we’re traveling.
