What REALLY Happens on a Disney Cruise Sea Day? 🌌 (Disney Magic Vlog Day 9)
Is a Disney Cruise Sea Day actually boring? Absolutely not! Join us for Day 9 of our 14-night Panama Canal transit on the Disney Magic, packed with behind-the-scenes cruise activities, incredible food, and a late-night experience we have NEVER done before! 🚢✨ Welcome back, Ohana! The exhaustion of our epic Pirate Night finally caught up with us, but thankfully, the ship's clocks rolled back, giving us a glorious extra hour in bed! We ended up sleeping right through breakfast, but we quickly rallied and headed down to the stunning Disney Magic atrium to catch the classic characters in their adorable sailor outfits. To make up for missing breakfast, we headed straight to the adults-only Cove Cafe for a caffeine fix and some incredible pastries. We fueled up on a chocolate chip muffin, a cranberry slice, and massive croissants, all while claiming our free loyalty coffee. From there, it was a non-stop gauntlet of Disney Cruise line entertainment! We kicked things off with General Disney Trivia (scoring a very respectable 17 out of 20!), and then tackled the hilarious Towel Folding class alongside our amazing room hostess. Let’s just say our towel dinosaurs and monkeys were... unique! 🦖🐒 For a mid-day snack, we discovered a hidden gem at the Soul Cat Lounge. We ordered the warm beignets dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon, served with a rich Nutella dip, and washed them down with a tropical lollipop mocktail complete with an edible strawberry straw! After fueling up, we battled our way through Pixar Trivia (14/20!) and Movie Quote trivia, officially completing three different trivia sessions in one day. We also swung by the Disney Vacation Club desk to pick up our daily DVC member gift—a gorgeous exclusive Brett Iwan print! Dinner tonight was at the beautiful Animator’s Palate. The bread service featured warm pretzel bread with liver spread, and the appetizers were a hit (Matilda accidentally ordered both the cheddar cheese & bacon soup AND the Dutch pea soup!). I enjoyed the flaky English Cod with new potatoes and spinach, finishing the meal with a decadent butterscotch pecan sundae and a classic kids' apple pie. But the real highlight of Day 9 happened after the sun went down. After watching the incredible Tangled: The Musical in the Walt Disney Theatre, we headed all the way up to the sports deck on Deck 10 for Stargazing at Sea. The crew actually turned off all the exterior lights on the Disney Magic, completely removing the light pollution. A guide used a laser pointer to show us constellations and tell stories of Greek mythology under the pitch-black sky.
