Disney Magic Panama Canal Day 10: Meeting Black Panther & A Massive Dolphin Pod

Welcome to Day 10 on the Disney Magic Westbound Panama Canal cruise. Join us for a full sea day featuring: • Rushing to meet Black Panther (Wakanda Forever!) & late breakfast at Cabanas • The Art of the Ship tour & formal night Mickey group photos • Spotting flying fish, turtles, and a massive dolphin pod 🌊 • Dinner at Rapunzel's Royal Table (beef tenderloin & Matilda's sushi feast!) • An honest look at the realities of cruising while managing chronic medical conditions It is another bright and sunny sea day, and we cannot believe how fast this 14-night cruise is going. We started our morning by rushing down to meet Black Panther at 10:15 AM. T'Challa was fantastic, doing a full "Wakanda Forever" greeting before we hurried up to Cabanas just in time to grab breakfast before it closed at 10:45 AM. After eating, we spent the morning relaxing on Deck 4, enjoying the balance of the warm sun and the sea breeze. The afternoon brought a mix of activities and some difficult realities of traveling with medical conditions. Laura had to take a nap due to severe migraines, while the rest of the afternoon involved the Art of the Ship tour. This tour was similar to one we did on the Disney Fantasy, focusing on the incredible design and artwork woven into the ship's carpets. Because it was formal night, we had to put our formal wear on at 2:00 PM for the Mickey and Friends group photo. Ant was an absolute star, waiting in the massive queue for an hour so the rest of us did not have to stand around. Back at the cabin, Ant and Matilda got heavily invested in a competitive game of Uno Flip on our extended verandah. Having that extra roof coverage on this specific verandah style is a huge benefit compared to standard balconies, especially for keeping out the rain and wind. While we were relaxing outside, Ant casually spotted the biggest pod of dolphins we have ever seen swimming right alongside the Disney Magic. The wildlife on this cruise has been staggering; we have seen flying fish, turtles, and heard reports from other guests who spotted whales and even a shark right from the lower decks. Dinner tonight was at Rapunzel's Royal Table. We all ordered the potato croquettes to start. Ant and I went with the beef tenderloin (which comes with shrimp), while Matilda created her own main course by ordering three portions of the sushi starter. For dessert, we stuck with the chocolate self-sourcing pudding with vanilla ice cream, and our amazing server surprised Ant by bringing out three portions of the lemon icebox pie just for him. I want to be completely honest with our viewers: I only just made it to dinner tonight. On top of the migraines earlier in the day, I had a significant seizure right before we were due to eat. I was determined to push through so we could sit together as a family for formal night and make sure I ate something, but as soon as dinner was finished, we headed straight back to the room. I immediately put my pajamas on to rest and recover for the night. Travel is not always perfect, but we are so grateful for the incredible highs of today.
