We're finally aboard Sky Princess for our long-awaited Total Solar Eclipse cruise—but our first day onboard brought a very frustrating surprise. More than two years ago, Gordon and Allison both joined the waitlist for a Princess excursion from Málaga to the Alhambra, one of the places Allison most wanted to visit on this entire trip. Eventually, Princess confirmed Gordon—but repeatedly removed Allison from the waitlist. Now we're onboard, Gordon has a non-refundable excursion ticket tied to his name and passport, Allison is still waitlisted, and Princess says there's nothing they can do. So what should we do? And more broadly, is it time for us to reconsider how often we book excursions directly through the cruise line?
