Yellowstone Wolf Watching: Finding Yellowstone Wolves in Lamar Valley
We attended the Understanding Wolf program, at Yellowstone National Park, and at this time of year, there are a number of avid wolf followers throughout the park, and we were constantly on the radio, sharing information on sightings. Even if you do not find the wolves initially, the beauty of the park is worth the trip. As you can see, it is cold. I think the average temperature when we were there, was about 14 degrees Fahrenheit, so make sure you bring the appropriate gear. Dress in layers, moisture wicking on the interior, and waterproof outerwear. Also make sure you have good, waterproof hiking boots, warm socks, gloves, and a hat. A lot of people had heated socks, which was helpful, because we found our feet got cold quickly, standing outside on the frozen ground.
