Princess Cruises has brought back embarkation times, but when can you actually select yours — and does the port really enforce it? Allison explains what we're seeing firsthand. Princess has said embarkation times should become available about 30 days before sailing, but we're hearing from many cruisers that theirs aren't appearing until 27 days, 20 days or even closer to departure. We also share what actually happened when we boarded Princess cruises recently in Seattle and Southampton. Enforcement has varied by terminal, and this time at Southampton's Ocean Terminal we were very happy to see an Elite embarkation perk actually being used! Then we tackle another interesting question: When you book a cruise, how much access should you reasonably expect to the ship's advertised public venues? A viewer recently sailed Majestic Princess when the Hollywood Conservatory was reserved for a private group, preventing other passengers from enjoying that venue. Allison discusses where she thinks cruise lines should draw the line between accommodating groups and taking major amenities away from everyone else.
