Jenn and I headed back to Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando for a little staycation, and after not visiting for a while, we were genuinely surprised by how much better the resort looked after its recent exterior renovations. We tour our upgraded King Water View room, which we scored after originally booking a standard room for just $247, and share one of our favorite Universal hotel tips: it never hurts to ask about an upgrade at check-in. We also check out all three pools at Portofino Bay — the lively Beach Pool with its water slide, the more relaxing Villa Pool, and the secluded Hillside Pool tucked away near the end of the East Wing.
