Maple Syrup, Butter Tarts & Wine | Ontario's Best Kept Secret
While visiting Niagara Falls, I took a short trip through Ontario's Niagara region to experience a different side of the area — poutine, wine country, butter tarts, Queen's Royal Park, and Maple Leaf Place. This Niagara-on-the-Lake travel vlog starts near rainy Niagara Falls with lunch at the Flying Saucer Restaurant and a first try of poutine in Ontario. From there, the drive heads through Virgil and into Ontario wine country, passing farms, vineyards, and the quieter roads that lead toward historic Niagara-on-the-Lake. In Niagara on the Lake, I explore the town's local shops on a short walking tour, try butter tarts from Niagara Home Bakery, visit Queen's Royal Park overlooking the Niagara River toward Youngstown, New York, and then head back toward Niagara Falls for Maple Leaf Place and a maple syrup tasting experience. This is not a complete Niagara-on-the-Lake travel guide. It is a real look at a Niagara Falls side trip and what it felt like to spend part of the day exploring food, small-town streets, local treats, waterfront views, and maple flavor in Ontario's Niagara region.
