Can you actually see San Juan on a cruise without staying a night? No hotel, no extra day — just the San Juan cruise port and the hours between a morning flight and an evening sailing. I flew in the morning my ship sailed, and flew home the day it came back. Before I left Florida I didn't know if seeing the city was interesting, advisable, or even possible. What I got was one hour in Old San Juan on the way out — after our Uber took us to the wrong cruise terminal — and two and a half hours on the way back. That second visit got me El Morro, the old city, the Capitol, Paseo de los Presidentes and Condado. And I still made my flight. If you're sailing out of San Juan on the Grand Princess, or any Princess ship, there's one thing here worth writing down: San Juan has more than one cruise terminal, and they sit on opposite sides of the bay. Castillo San Felipe del Morro — El Morro — took the Spanish 248 years to build, from 1539 to 1787.
