CRUISE NEWS! Our $517 London Mistake! A Travel Warning You Need to Hear!
We made a $517 mistake in London today — and we're telling you about it so hopefully you don't make the same one! After a wonderful day exploring London, we were tired and needed to get back to our hotel. We were only about 0.9 miles away, and while looking for an Uber near Buckingham Palace, we spotted one of London's bicycle pedicabs. It looked like fun, so we hopped in. We didn't ask the price first. That was our mistake. When we arrived at our hotel, we learned the charge was £300 for the two of us — which came through on our credit card at about $517! An Uber would have been roughly $20–$30. Allison shares exactly what happened, what we should have done differently, and a very simple travel reminder: always establish the price before you get in. Thankfully, that was only one part of an otherwise splendid day in London!
