This week, narrowboat life on the Llangollen Canal continues as I leave Chirk, cross the spectacular Chirk Aqueduct and head through two tunnels in search of something that has become surprisingly difficult to find… a decent place to clean my filthy boat! 😂🏴☠️ For the last few cruises I’ve been trying to get the Jolly Roger washed and waxed, but between the weather, dusty towpaths, loose stone and less-than-ideal moorings, something always seems to get in the way. Surely this time I can FINALLY get the job done? Well… sort of. 😂 There’s a new pirate flag, an unexpected owl, a suspicious pigeon, a heatwave that puts an end to any thoughts of productivity, beer, ukuleles, squeeze boxes… and even a solar eclipse. Because apparently nothing is ever simple when you live on a narrowboat.
