Guess Who’s Yacht Docked Next to Us in Alaska? [MV Escapade] 4K

Cruising Alaska’s Inside Passage on our Nordhavn 47 trawler, we anchor in Benjamin Bay, raft up with friends, and encounter orcas near Auke Bay in Juneau. Remote anchorages, incredible wildlife encounters, and a surprise superyacht sighting make this one of our most unforgettable days of trawler life in Southeast Alaska. We leave Sullivan West Bight and cruise north through Lynn Canal to Benjamin Bay—one of the most beautiful (and deepest) anchorages we’ve found so far. After setting the hook in 70 feet of water, we raft up with our buddy boat Empress and soak in one of the warmest days we’ve had since arriving. We take the dinghy ashore to explore, beachcomb, and hike through the forest—eventually bushwhacking our way to the other side of the island. The next day, we continue toward Auke Bay near Juneau, spotting bald eagles and an incredible pod of orcas hunting just behind us. Then the surprise… a massive superyacht pulls in right in front of us—reportedly owned by J.K. Rowling.
