We Finally Made It to Hot Springs Cove! | Cruising Vancouver Island 4K [MV Escapade]

After more than a week of trying to get there, we finally make it to Hot Springs Cove on the wild west coast of Vancouver Island! Our journey aboard our Nordhavn 47, Escapade, continues as we leave Tahsis and head south along the rugged coast. Along the way, we're treated to another large raft of sea otters, beautiful calm seas as we round Estevan Point, and some of the best cruising weather we could ask for. After the windlass failure that stopped us in our tracks in the last episode—and an unexpected return to Tahsis for repairs—it's especially nice to arrive at our anchorage and see everything working exactly as it should. From there, we head ashore at Maquinna Marine Provincial Park and make the walk through the coastal rainforest to the famous Hot Springs Cove. After everything it took to get here, soaking in the warm water surrounded by the rugged beauty of Vancouver Island was definitely worth the wait. The next day brings boats and floatplanes filled with visitors to the hot springs, while we set off by dinghy to find a quieter stretch of coastline, a little beach, and a trail where the pups can stretch their legs.
