Sun Princess Embarkation Day: Exploring Naples First š®š¹
Before boarding Sun Princess in Naples, we spent embarkation day exploring the Royal Palace, Maradona Quarter and Castel Nuovo. We also share where we stored our luggage, what we paid and what we would honestly recommend. Welcome to Vlog 2, Part 1 of our Princess Cruises series! It was Saturday 27 September 2025 and our seven-night Mediterranean cruise aboard Sun Princess was finally beginning. Our embarkation window was between 1pm and 7pm, so instead of heading straight to the ship, we decided to make the most of our remaining time in Naples. After checking out of Relais Castel Nuovo, we left our suitcases safely at Tiffany & Mayfair Lifestyle Suites in the same building and set off for one last Naples adventure. It is noisy, lively and a little rough around the edges, but that is all part of its character. The streets have so much energy, we felt safe during our visit and the Maradona area was complete madnessāin the best possible way! The Royal Palace was one of our highlights. The rooms were stunning and the gardens gave us fantastic views over the bay, including Sun Princess docked below. We spent around two and a half hours here and would highly recommend it. Our honest Naples travel tips: ā¢ If possible, arrive at least one day before a fly-cruise rather than risking a delayed flight on embarkation day ā¢ Relais Castel Nuovo is brilliantly located, approximately one minute from the cruise port and close to many major attractions ā¢ We paid ā¬5 per large case and ā¬3 per smaller case to store our luggage at Tiffany & Mayfair Lifestyle Suites ā¢ The palace gardens and bell tower use allocated time slotsāif you miss one, you may not be allowed in later ā¢ Some areas of Castel Nuovo were closed for renovations during our visit, so check what is open before making a special journey ā¢ The prices mentioned are what we paid during our September 2025 visit and may change We finally headed back for our luggage at around 3.15pm before walking across to Naples Cruise Port.
