Prague Jewish Quarter & Hidden History 🇨🇿
Exploring Prague’s Jewish Quarter, hidden history and iconic landmarks 🇨🇿 One of the most powerful and moving days of our Prague city break. Hi everyone, Steve here 👋 This was our final full day in Prague, and what a day it turned out to be… Hi everyone, Steve here 👋 This was our final full day in Prague, and what a day it turned out to be… We started the morning with another fantastic breakfast at the Michelangelo Grand Hotel — honestly, we’ve really loved our stay here. The location is perfect, the hotel is brilliant, and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back. We set off nice and early to make the most of the day, and it turned into one of the most powerful and memorable days of our trip. 📍 In this vlog we visit: • Spanish Synagogue • Old-New Synagogue • Pinkas Synagogue • Old Jewish Cemetery • Clam-Gallas Palace • Clementinum (Baroque Library & Astronomical Tower) • Grand Café Orient (coffee stop ☕) • House of the Black Madonna • Powder Tower While exploring, we made great use of the Prague Visitor Pass — and honestly, it’s worth every penny. We got to see and do so much more than we normally would. After a full morning of exploring, Gemma was starting to feel the cold, so we popped into the Grand Café Orient to warm up with sandwiches, a sweet treat to share, and hot coffees with rum — which definitely did the trick! Our final stop was the Powder Tower. It’s still worth a visit if you have time, but compared to other towers in Prague, we felt the views were probably the least impressive. We then headed back to the hotel, where we’d booked a late checkout (around €50), giving us extra time to relax before heading home — definitely worth doing if you have a later flight. We pre-booked a taxi through the hotel (also around €50), and our driver was incredible — honestly like having our own tour guide. He even played films for us during the journey and shared more about Prague’s history, especially after hearing we’d visited Terezín. He recommended two films: 🎬 One Life (2023) 🎬 Anthropoid (2016) We arrived at Václav Havel Airport Prague and flew home with Jet2, seated again in 8A and 8B. Our flight was delayed slightly due to freezing conditions — the plane had to be de-iced — but we arrived back home just before midnight. We’ve had such an amazing time in Prague — it’s a city we’d absolutely recommend for a city break.
