Our Princess Cruise Begins! First Day in Naples, Italy 🇮🇹

Our Princess Cruises adventure has finally begun! 🇮🇹 Join us as we fly from Manchester to Naples before boarding the incredible Sun Princess... but Italy's strikes almost changed everything. Welcome to the first vlog in our brand-new Princess Cruises Mediterranean with Greek Isles & Turkey series. We booked this cruise on the beautiful Sun Princess and decided to arrive in Naples the day before embarkation to make the start of our holiday as relaxed as possible. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. Our day started with an early morning at Manchester Airport before flying with Jet2 to Naples. While sitting on the aircraft we were told about strike action across Italy, and with flights already being cancelled, we genuinely started to worry. Would our private transfer still be waiting? Would we miss the apartment check-in? Thankfully everything worked out, and both our driver and apartment host patiently waited for us. A huge thank you to them both! After arriving at Relais Castel Nuovo, we were completely blown away. The apartment was fantastic, but the enormous terrace overlooking the Naples cruise port was something really special. It's easily one of the best balconies we've ever had. Once we'd settled in, it was time to explore Naples. During this vlog we visit: ✔️ Manchester Airport Terminal 2 ✔️ Naples Airport ✔️ Relais Castel Nuovo ✔️ Galleria Umberto I ✔️ Pizzeria Napoli In Bocca ✔️ Piazza del Plebiscito ✔️ Royal Palace of Naples ✔️ Castel Nuovo Along the way we experienced our very first authentic Neapolitan pizza... and wow... it absolutely lived up to the hype! At just €10 including a huge pizza and a Peroni, it was one of the best value meals we've ever had whilst travelling. Although our plans didn't quite go as expected—with Piazza del Plebiscito closed for event preparations and arriving too late to visit Castel Nuovo—we still had an amazing first afternoon discovering the city before boarding Sun Princess the following day. One of our favourite moments was simply sitting on the apartment balcony with a cold Peroni, watching life go by and looking out over the cruise port. Then, at sunrise... I woke incredibly early because I was so excited for embarkation day, and even managed to catch a glimpse of Sun Princess arriving into Naples. Unfortunately, I also managed to forget to press record... It removes so much stress if flights are delayed. 🏨 We highly recommend Relais Castel Nuovo. The location couldn't have been better, just a minute from the cruise terminal and within easy walking distance of many of Naples' main attractions. 🍕 If you're visiting Naples, don't leave without trying authentic Neapolitan pizza. It was every bit as good as we'd hoped. This is just the beginning of our Princess Cruises adventure!
