Sun Princess After Dark | Crown Grill, Cocktails & Party!
What is Sun Princess really like after dark? 🚢🍸 We try Crown Grill, discover some fantastic cocktails and end up partying in The Dome until 1am! Our Palermo port day may have finished... but our night onboard Sun Princess was only just beginning. 😂 Welcome back to another vlog from our first ever Princess Cruises holiday onboard Sun Princess! After a fantastic day exploring Palermo, Sicily, we'd returned to the ship at around 3:30pm with every intention of having a little rest. Well... that little rest turned into both of us falling asleep until around 5pm! 😂 We obviously needed it because tonight we had plenty planned. We were booked into Crown Grill, one of the speciality restaurants we'd been most excited about trying, but first there was somewhere else we wanted to discover... 🍸 Good Spirits at Sea Our evening started at Good Spirits at Sea on Deck 7. This was our first visit and we think this could easily become one of our favourite bars onboard. It's quite easy to walk past without realising what's inside, but we're glad we stopped. The service was fantastic and there was a brilliant selection of cocktails to try. 🍹 We missed the live cocktail-making demonstration this time, but as it takes place regularly, hopefully we'll catch it another evening. And because we have the Princess Premier Package, our drinks were covered within our package. Definitely put Good Spirits at Sea on your list if you're sailing on Sun Princess! 🥩 Crown Grill – our favourite meal so far? Then it was time for the restaurant we'd really been looking forward to... Crown Grill. We'd watched plenty of YouTube videos about Crown Grill before our cruise, so expectations were pretty high. The staff couldn't have looked after us better. Because we're still quite shy when filming around other diners, we asked whether there was somewhere a little more private where we could vlog without disturbing anybody. They found us the perfect table. ❤️ And then came the food... We both tried: 🦀 Crab cake 🧅 French onion soup 🥩 Filet mignon – medium rare 🍄 Sautéed mushrooms 🥔 Mashed potatoes 🫛 Green beans For dessert: 🍫 Steve – chocolate cake 🍰 Gemma – cheesecake And there may have been a little champagne involved too! 🥂😂 We couldn't decide between the crab cake and French onion soup, so the staff allowed us to have both. Now that's service! And the filet mignon? Honestly, we thought it was one of the best steaks we've ever eaten – at sea or on land. Crown Grill became our favourite meal of the cruise so far, and we already couldn't wait to return. 🍹 Exploring Sun Princess after dark After dinner we headed across to Wheelhouse Bar on Deck 7 for our first visit. It's a much quieter and more intimate bar. Personally, we'd like a little background music in there, but that's one of the things we're starting to appreciate about Sun Princess. There really does seem to be somewhere for everyone. Want peace and quiet? You can find it. Want live music? You've got it. Want cocktails? Definitely. Want to dance until 1am? Well... we discovered that too. 😂 🎶 The Piazza We needed something to wake us up after all that food, so we headed to The Piazza, where a live band was playing. That certainly brought our energy levels back! 😂 After around 45 minutes, we went outside to see what Sun Princess looked like at night. The Lido Pool looked fantastic illuminated after dark, before we headed up to Sun Bar on Deck 18 for another drink overlooking the pool. And then came... 🎧 THE DOME! At around 10:30pm we headed into The Dome on Deck 17. The lighting and sound system looked incredible... There was just one slight problem. Hardly anybody was there! 😂. There were probably about five of us dancing. That wasn't going to stop Gemma. She went over to the DJ and asked him to play...ABBA – Dancing Queen. 😂. I laughed. Gemma LOVES ABBA. I'm not quite as enthusiastic! 😂. The DJ apparently told her he might play it towards the end of the night. About 15 minutes later... 🎶 DANCING QUEEN! The look on Gemma's face was priceless. ❤️. But then something happened we genuinely weren't expecting. People started heading onto the dance floor. Young and old were dancing and singing along and suddenly The Dome had completely changed. Gemma had got the party started! 😂🎉. Fair play to the DJ for playing her song. From there the place just got better and better. Thank you for travelling with us.
