Flying into Miami the day before your cruise? Here’s where I’d stay.

Flying into Miami (MIA) the day before a cruise from PortMiami? I usually recommend staying in Downtown Miami or Brickell instead of near the airport, unless your flight arrives really late. That puts you closer to the cruise terminals, gives you easier access to restaurants and things to do the night before, and can make embarkation morning simpler when PortMiami traffic is busy. Hotels I continue to recommend include Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Brickell-Downtown, Hilton Miami Downtown, InterContinental Miami, and Courtyard Miami Downtown/Brickell Area. Miami hotel rates vary a lot throughout the year, so I focus more on location, quality, convenience and the overall pre-cruise experience than a specific nightly price.
