We Went To Look at a Luxury Cruise… Then we booked one!
We went luxury cruise window shopping… and ended up booking one! We’ve spent years cruising with mainstream and premium cruise lines, but we’ve started wondering what it would be like to step things up a level. So when we were invited to have a look on board Oceania Vista in Southampton as part of our CLIA membership for a look around, we decided to go and see what luxury cruising is actually like. We weren’t booking a cruise. We were just looking. Or so we thought… Oceania Vista certainly made an impression. The ship is smaller, the passenger-to-crew ratio is impressive, the cabins are beautifully finished and there’s a very different feel to the whole experience. But then came the important question: how much does luxury cruising actually cost? Once we got home, we started hunting for luxury cruise deals and found four particularly interesting options — including a no-fly Norwegian Fjords cruise from Southampton, Mediterranean itineraries and a much longer transatlantic cruise. We compare the prices, what’s included and how they stack up against the cruises we normally take. And then, after all that window shopping… we made a decision. But which cruise did we book?
